March 10, 2003 - Summit Machine Tool Manufacturing Corp announces they will be participating in the upcoming EASTEC Advanced Productivity Exposition in Springfield, Massachusetts, May 20-22, 2003. In booth 1515, Summit will feature several of the mainstays of the Summit line, the Summit 16-3x40 and the 24-4x80 heavy-duty engine lathes, the new Summit EVS350B electronic variable speed vertical mill and the 3BHD heavy duty geared head vertical drill. The Summit 16-3x40 is the heavy weight leader in the 16” range. It features a 10 HP main motor, 15 ¾” bed width, a single handle “joy stick” control with four way rapid traverse, a 3.1” spindle bore and a machine weight near 6000 lbs. These excellent features combine to provide you the rigidity needed to make the heaviest cuts and give you the finest finishes.

The Summit 24-4x80 offers all the features of the Summit 16” plus the huge 4.1” spindle bore as standard equipment.

The New Summit EVS350B electronic variable speed mill is the latest addition to the Summit family of chip making machine tools. The EVS350B features inverter duty, high energy-high efficiency motors that provide immediate response speed control with electronic braking. The EVS350B is equipped with a 10”x50” table, complete coolant system, complete electrics with low voltage controls, a halogen work light, a set of R-8 collets and a clamping kit.

The Summit 3BHD heavy duty geared head vertical drill is designed with a heavy duty quill and #5 MT spindle with manual and power down feeds, automatic reversing tapping cycle, a tilting swivel table and a machined base with a built in coolant system. The 3BHD Vertical Drill features a 5 ½ HP motor that allows drilling up to 2” capacity in mild steel.
