LIDA
incremental linear encoders use AURODUR steel scales
with grating periods of 20 µm (LIDA 400) or 40
µm (LIDA 100) as measuring standard. The new LIDA
models are relatively insensitive to scale
contamination and unevenness of the mounting surface.
The
AURODUR steel scale tape of the LIDA
171/LIDA 181 is cemented into a steel
scale carrier and then calibrated. A
calibration chart is supplied with every
scale.
The LIDA
175/LIDA 185 is intended for larger
measuring lengths up to 30 m (100 ft). Here
the one-piece AURODUR steel scale tape is
inserted into a scale housing consisting of
several standard sections; it is then
stretched to a defined tension and fixed at
both ends to the machine bed.
The LIDA
177/LIDA 187 also consists of a
one-piece steel tape. In this case, however,
it is guided in a scale-tape carrier and is
rigidly connected at its center to the
machine. Measuring lengths up to 6 m (237 in.)
are available.
