System Overview
Text Box: AOI-ESV-303 is an alternative solution to expensive in-line AOI system, due to its affordable semi-automatic design. It comes with monochrome CCD camera with three colors RGB (Red, Green, Blue) LEDs for either gray scale or color decisions.
It can inspect solder bridging of ICís, parts placed wrong, existence of parts, polarity check for capacitor / diode / transistor, confirmation silk screen printing of IC and chips, mis-orientation of connector, connector color check, poor alignment of parts, parallel parts check, existence of bypass capacitor, curve of IC leads...and much more.
The operating system is based on PC Windows NT open architecture, unlike other systems in the market using Mac or Unix based which are very complicated and closed system. Connecting to your network will be much simpler and easier due to the PC Windows NT O/S design.
The software design of AOI-ESV-303 does not use any complicated part libraries to develop inspection program. It adopts simple and easy programming method by using mouse click. The programmer can adjust threshold value on each parts to decide the level of rejected parts. The programmer can even program it to accept different vendors on the same part.
Programming and production inspection time are unbelievably fast. For a 200 part application as an example, it takes about 2 hours for programming and around 10 seconds for production inspection.
After you have completed production inspection, the system will display actual board image on the screen with red arrow pointer to pinpoint the location of failed parts. By a mouse click, it displays image of fail parts on the screen side by side with master image for comparison so that operator can confirm all fail parts or repair boards faster.
ESV-303 can be used before / after reflow oven and wave soldering machine. When it combines with ICT tester, it improves test / inspection coverage especially the test coverage on ICT tester is very low due to missing testability on the board.
