Retrofitting existing machines. HEIDENHAIN pointed to updated controls and feedback systems as ways to improve repeatability and reliability while protecting the investment in current equipment. The right path depends on the machine, its existing interface, and the job it needs to do.
Building new machines. Encoders, controls, feedback, and automation need to work together from the design stage. For OEMs, selecting the right components early can simplify integration and support the precision expected from a new machine.
Measurement and performance. HEIDENHAIN also emphasized metrology and feedback tools for checking critical dimensions and machine behavior. Better measurement can help teams spot variation and decide where adjustment or service is needed.
