The FSI 608 is a safety encoder certified up to SIL3 / PLe, Cat. 4, and compliant with IEC 61800-5-3. It talks to the safety system over PROFIsafe, for PROFINET environments.
Resolution is scalable up to 31 bit (19 bit singleturn plus 12 bit multiturn), with a safe absolute accuracy of ±0.89°. The housing is anodized aluminum with a stainless steel shaft, and a range of shafts and flanges is offered. Safety functions are set through the safe fieldbus and include standstill detection, position monitoring, overspeed protection and acceleration monitoring.
