The HEIDENHAIN LIDA 225 is an incremental exposed linear encoder (reflected light) with an AURODUR steel scale tape for large traverses, 100 µm grating period, and measuring lengths up to 30 m. Reference marks every 50 mm are possible, activated by selector magnets, with linear machine error compensation by tensioning the scale tape.
