HEIDENHAIN VT 122 Tool Inspection and Measurement Camera System
The HEIDENHAIN VT 122 is a camera system for tool inspection and non-contact tool measurement inside a machine tool's work envelope. Two cameras image tools from the side and from below. An additional measuring LED on Camera 1 enables tool-length and tool-diameter measurement with the appropriate software and machine integration, while the tool remains clamped in the spindle.

Inspection and machine integration
The camera system operates with Visual Tool Check software and the appropriate machine-control cycles. Standard software functions include tool images from the side and below, close-up images of each flute, manual wear measurement and breakage control. Panoramic imaging and automated flank-wear measurement are options, not standard hardware features.
VT 122 supports visual inspection plus tool-length and tool-diameter measurement. Choose rear connections or base-plate connections for the machine's available mounting space. Software, control compatibility, mounting space, compressed air and installation requirements must be confirmed for the machine.
