HEIDENHAIN LIC 4100 Dplus Absolute Linear Encoders
The HEIDENHAIN LIC 4100 Dplus is an absolute exposed linear encoder with two graduation tracks arranged at 0° and 90°. One measuring standard and two conventional scanning heads provide position feedback in the primary direction and a perpendicular secondary direction. This makes it possible to measure and compensate for neighboring-axis motion within a compact installation.
Technical Data
- Measurement: absolute, with two orthogonal graduation tracks
- Primary measuring length: up to 3040 mm
- Secondary measuring length: ±0.5 mm
- Measuring step: down to 1 nm in the primary direction, depending on the scanning head
- Traversing speed: up to 600 m/min with the specified scanning heads
- Measuring standard: LIC 4003 Dplus linear scale
- Primary scanning head: AK LIC 41x series
- Secondary scanning head: AK LIC 21x series
- Interfaces: EnDat, Fanuc Serial Interface, Mitsubishi high speed interface, Panasonic Serial Interface or Yaskawa Serial Interface, depending on the scanning heads
Selection and installation
The encoder consists of a Dplus measuring standard and two separately selected scanning heads. Choose the measuring length, scale material and fastening method, then match both scanning heads to the control interfaces, measuring steps, cable lengths and connectors required by the machine. Primary and secondary measuring performance are different. The standard LIC 4100 and LIC 2100 scanning-head specifications do not make their conventional scale accuracy grades the accuracy grade of the Dplus scale.
The large scanning field improves resistance to contamination, but this is an exposed encoder. Protect and install the measuring standard and scanning heads as required for the application. Confirm the complete component combination before ordering.
