HEIDENHAIN MRP Precision Angle Encoder Modules
HEIDENHAIN MRP angle encoder modules combine an angle encoder with a preloaded precision bearing in one tested assembly. They provide high measuring accuracy, high bearing rigidity, smooth rotation and repeatable positioning for precision rotary axes. The matched assembly reduces installation work because the encoder and bearing do not need separate alignment.

Series and model selection
MRP 2000 series
Compact modules with a 10 mm hollow shaft and ±7 arcsecond system accuracy. MRP 2080 is incremental with 2048 signal periods and a 1 VPP interface. MRP 2010 uses EnDat 2.2 and MRP 2030 uses EnDat 3; both provide 25-bit position values per revolution. Mechanically permissible speed is 2000 rpm. The centered static axial-load limit is 50 N and the static radial-load limit is 45 N.
MRP 5000 series
Modules with a 35 mm hollow shaft. Incremental MRP 5080 and MRP 5280 have 30,000 signal periods; absolute MRP 5010 has 16,384 signal periods and 28-bit position values via EnDat 2.2. System accuracy is ±2.5 or ±5 arcseconds for MRP 5080 and MRP 5010; MRP 5280 is ±2.5 arcseconds. Mechanically permissible speed is 300 rpm for MRP 5080 and MRP 5010, or 150 rpm for MRP 5280. Centered static axial-load and radial-load limits are 200 N and 60 N.
MRP 8000 series
Modules with a 100 mm hollow shaft and selectable ±1 or ±2 arcsecond system accuracy. Incremental MRP 8080 has 63,000 signal periods and a 1 VPP interface. Absolute MRP 8010 has 32,768 signal periods and 29-bit position values via EnDat 2.2. Mechanically permissible speed is 300 rpm. Centered static axial-load and radial-load limits are 300 N and 100 N.
MRP 8081 Dplus
A 100 mm hollow-shaft module with four scanning heads and compensation data. It provides ±0.40 arcsecond system accuracy, 63,000 signal periods and four separate 1 VPP outputs. Repeatability from both directions is 0.1 arcsecond. Mechanically permissible speed is 300 rpm, with centered static axial-load and radial-load limits of 300 N and 100 N. Each scanning head requires its own electrical connection.
Installation and compatibility
Choose the series, interface, accuracy grade, cover, connector and mounting arrangement for the application. Supply voltage is DC 5 V ±0.25 V for the listed incremental models and DC 3.6 V to 14 V for the listed absolute models. Electrical connections and cable limits vary by model. Protection ratings also vary by model and cover, so do not treat all MRP modules as sealed devices.
The bearing-load values above are purely static limits, without additional shock or vibration. Confirm axial and radial loads, tilting torque, speed, mating dimensions and cable routing against the selected model's specifications. MRP modules provide encoder feedback and precision bearings; they do not include a drive motor.
